The Church of Panagia Drosiani

This is one of the oldest churches of Naxos with a unique architecture. It is an Early Christian, tri-apsidal church with a dome. Three single-room chapels are incorporated along the northern side while there is also a cemetery next to the church. Some of the paintings that have been preserved date back to the 6th century and some scholars believe this is the oldest church in the Balkans.

In the church you can see the marble iconostasis and candlesticks and the old painting of Panagia Drosiani which is associated with many legends and traditions.

The church can be visited daily from 11:00 to 17:00.
