The tower dates back to the end of the 4th century and it is one of the most important monuments of Naxos as it is an excellent example of defensive architecture of the Hellenistic period. It is a four-storey cylindrical building with a total height of about 20 meters. The diameter of its base is 9.2 meters and it is made of huge marble blocks.
The tower is 14 km from Filoti Village, on the provincial road leading to Kalantos Village.
